An elegant nunofelted dress made from natural silk. The dress has dark blue and purple colours and its material has a rich and unique texture.

Making clothes is one of my favourite processes because it is very creative. But it is quite a lenghty task, for I have to decide on the design, the colours, the texture and so on and then bring the piece to life.

The base of this dress is a silk fabric I dyed black and for felting I used a bright pink merino, which I added as a thin even layer. This method helps to stretch the dress to fit the individual figure. The materials I used were merino, silk and yarn. Later I decorated the bottom of the dress by cutting out crosses, the symbol was inspired by our ancestors and their beliefs. When you look closely at our historical national clothes then you can see a lot of symbols added to the garments, which are meant to protect the wearer from evil.
